About Wikimpacts

Wikimpacts is a global climate impact database developed jointly by researchers from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), and TUD Dresden University of Technology (TUD), in collaboration with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), Uppsala University (UU), Swedish centre for impacts of climate extremes (climes), Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI), and Stockholm University (SU) to explore and visualize the impacts of climate-related events around the world. Our mission is to provide accessible, data-driven insights to support decision-making in disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation strategies.

We aim to bridge the gap between raw data and actionable knowledge by providing a comprehensive platform that visualizes the global impacts of climate-related disasters. Our goal is to enhance awareness, preparedness, and response efforts among policymakers, researchers, and the public.
